- Curator's comments
- Brigstocke suggests that this is study for the 'Sibyl' in the Castello Sforzesco, Milan (illustrated Brigstocke p. 173). Neilson notes that a similar figure appears in a drawing of the 'Angel announcing to the three Maries Christ's Resurrection' sold at Sotheby's (Neilson no 35, fig. 143). No such painting is known.
