- Curator's comments
- One of a series of 11 'experiments in colour printing from metal blocks by Charles H Mackie made about 1897 before his woodcuts in colours' (according to the register entry by A.E.Popham which is derived from a letter by the donor which accompanies the series). This is one of six proof impressions of this design. All are tongue-in-cheek recreations of non-existent Greek vases.
