- One of a collection of 74 drawings made by James McBey while he was official artist with the Egyptian Expeditionary Force 1917-19 during World War I (1919,0412.15-88). In the register of acquisitions, each drawing is listed with its date and title. A number of them were exhibited at the Colnaghi & Obach Galleries in London from January to February 1918. They were presented to the British Museum by H. M. Government in 1919.
