The raising of the Pear, satire on Louis Philippe: parody of a religious ceremony with Talleyrand, supported by Thiers and another man, raising the pear-shaped face of Louis Philippe above his head; three men prostrate themselves in the centre foreground, and politicians can be seen praying on either side, with notably on the left Madier de Montjau standing in his magistrate robe, Etienne, d'Argout, Guizot and another man swinging thuribles, Viennet playing music, and Soult holding a candle; and on the right, Lobau in a richly adorned uniform, Dupin in a pierrot costume, and a prince on a balcony; in the left foreground, a funeral slab to the 'héros de juillet 1830'; eleventh plate for La Caricature's 'Association mensuelle lithographique'. June 1833
