Description
Twelve mezzotints after paintings in the collection of Catherine the Great of Russia, bound together in two parts, stitched between brown boards; title-page printed on blue paper and pasted onto front board; two pages of dedications containing small stipple portraits of Catherine the Great; mezzotint portraits of Catherine the Great, Alexander Dmitriev Mamonov, Prince Potemkin and Grigory Aleksandrovich Potemkin, mythological, biblical and genre subjects; after Mikhail Shibanov, Joshua Reynolds, Bartolomé Esteban Murillo, Theodor Rombouts, Virgilius Erichsen, Valentin de Boulogne, Rembrandt, Guido Reni, Jean Baptiste Greuze. 1785-1792 Mezzotint, stipple, etching, stipple portraits printed in black and blue; two pages of dedications in letterpress
