- From Jean-Benjamin de Laborde's 'Description générale et particulière de la France' (also referred to as 'Voyage pittoresque de la France, avec la description de toutes ses provinces'), published in 12 volumes from 1781 to 1796; the text was accompanied by a large number of engravings, of which the execution was placed under the direction of Née.
Le Blanc (No.24) mentions a 'Description pittoresque de la France' composed of 12 volumes and illustrated by 828 plates.
