Allegorical scene on the death of Mirabeau, with the latter lying on a classical bed, and expiring in the arms of grieving France whilst pointing at left, where Truth is drawing a curtain, revealing a crowd of people fighting over the throne of France; Death is standing beside the dying orator; in the foreground, at left, the three Parcae cutting Mirabeau's thread of life, and Fate, personified by an old man crowned with stars, putting a paper inscribed with the name of Mirabeau into an urn. 1792 Etching and engraving
