- Curator's comments
- This is one of a group of unsigned plates extracted from the series titled 'Engravings from the works of Sir Joshua Reynolds, PRA', published by Henry Graves & Co in 4 volumes in 1865. A complete bound series is in the BM (1875,0508.1711 and following). This second set was broken up and the plates distributed among the works of the engravers; the unsigned ones were placed as anonymous.
See 1864,1008.184 for an earlier impression.
