Nebuchadnezzar casting Shadrach, Meshach and Abednego into the fiery furnace [Daniel 3:15]. Scene in an open space in a town, with the Babylonian king mounted on a horse in left foreground and holding a sceptre, pointing towards right at the furnace, the three Jews unhurt in the burning stove at right, a large idol in background, soldiers behind the king in foreground; first state before publisher's address. c.1634 Engraving
