- Curator's comments
- Fanny Eaton was a popular Victorian model originating from Jamaica. She began modelling in the 1860s and became quite sought out, particularly by the Pre-Raphaelites whose biblical, African and near-Eastern figures she inspired.
The current drawing is one of three drawings of Fanny Eaton in the British Museum collections. See 1900,0411.6 and 1995, 0401.10.1-25 for more information.
