- According to M-N the drawing may be dated c1515. Attributed by Dimier to Jean Clouet. Given to Jean Clouet by Zvereva, who also doubts the traditional identification as Galiot de Genouillac on the basis of comparison with other portraits of the same sitter, such as the later portrait at Chantilly. Zvereva describes it as the portrait of an unknown gentleman and suggests a date of c. 1530.
