- The Register records what may have been an inscription or label, visible at the time of acquisition: 'The End of the Lake of Geneva, looking towards the Rhone valley'.
Devis is not known to have travelled abroad. This drawing, along with 1908,0214.1 and 1908,0214.2, may be a working up of a Grand Tour drawing by one of his patrons.
