This is probably a study for the right arm of Christ in the etching of the 'Entombment' (B. xv, p. 8, 5). The studies on the verso of 1905,1110.12 show the artist's concern with this detail of his central figure. Such anatomical studies are in the Raphaelesque tradition, as seen in the study for the Borghese 'Entombment' (B.M. 'Raphael', no. 11) which is carried down to the skeleton.
