There is a vertical line in the left margin which might indicate that the copper plate was to be reduced on that side.
After a painting by Millet c. 1864. The plate was used as an illustration to Alexandre Piedagnel's 'Millet, Souvenirs de Barbizon', and was later published in the catalogue of the Alfred Saucède sale in 1879.
