- Smith's name does not appear on other states of this print, leading Chaloner Smith to suggest (p. 1201) that 'it seems possible that he may not have engraved it all himself, but merely completed a work by Beckett or Williams.' Beckett's wife published the second state, and the fourth state is lettered 'Williams fecit'.
