- We are grateful to Judith Barber (email July 2020) for pointing out that the original engraved amethyst is in the Bibliothèque nationale de France (inv.58.1815). The latter was illustrated in Stosch's 'Germmae Antiquae', 1724, no, 67, which was likely the source for this drawing.
