- This is from a series of twenty portraits of the imperial family, designed and engraved by Pauquet and first published by Frédéric Fayot. The set was advertised in 1851 and issued in livraisons of four plates each.
The set was reissued in 1853 by Pauquet in 1853; impressions from the reissue bear Pauquet's address (at 7 rue de la Sorbonne) instead of Fayot's, and do not feature a series title ('La Famille Bonaparte').
This print, which bears Pauquet Frères's address rather than just Pauquet's, appears to be from a different edition altogether.
