Engraved frontispiece to Virgil, 'Opera' (London, T. Dring and G. Wells, 1695); title, upper centre against a column, on a banner held aloft by an eagle with a wreath in its beak; below, Virgil, seated in a chair with a face carved into one of the arms, wearing a laurel wreath, and with an open book on his lap; before him, a swan dips a quill into ink; top left, pastoral scene, with sheep, boy and man playing a pipe under a tree; top right, scene depicting Aeneas leaving Troy in flames, carrying Anchises on his shoulders, and holding the hand of Ascanius.
