- Curator's comments
- As with 1900,0824.167, the final design for this subject is organised along a frontal plane and, significantly, Paris's contrapposto pose in this drawing has been much simplified by his having been rotated to fully face Hector. In this way Flaxman has shifted the narrative slightly forward in time, depicting Paris in contemplation of Hector's admonition rather than reacting to his arrival.
