- The Topographia Provinciarum Austriacarum (first edition published in 1649) was one of several volumes for Merian's 'Topographia Germaniae' that was published in Frankfurt over several years from 1642. According to Wüthrich the view was probably etched by an anonymous master, called "Callotstecher".

- The group of prints registered under 1898,0725.1 to 8 was recorded as being given by Franks, although it was registered a year after his death. This is because the prints were already in the BM in 1897 as a proposed gift. But they are recorded here as having being bequeathed by him.
