Individual portraits of Marat, Lepelletier, Chalier, Barra and Viala, 'martyrs of the French Revolution', each portrayed bust-length and within a circle; upper row with on the left Lepelletier in profile to the right, and on the right Marat turned to the left; middle row with Barra, tuned to the right; lower row with, on the left, Chalier, looking to the right; and, on the right, Viala, looking towards the viewer, carrying an axe over his shoudler. c.1793/94
