A parody of the Last Judgement, inspired by Michelangelo's fresco, celebrating Louis XVIII and the Charter of 1814; with in the upper section the apotheosis of Louis XVI and his family, kneeling before the protective figure of Truth; on either side are the king's faithful followers; below, in the middle section, Wisdom leaning on a bust of Louis XVIII and presenting the Charter to the French population; on the left, a group of soldiers swear allegiance; on the right, a group of kneeling women present their children to the King; in the lower part, Charon brandishing his oar and threatening the passengers of his ferryboat - Napoleon and his staff; on the left several figures, including Marat and Danton, are see drowning in the Styx; before letter (?). c.1814

- The lower part recalls another parody of Michelangelo's Last Judgement, engraved by Vallardi; see 1861,1012.418 for impression.
The group of soldiers swearing allegiance derives from David's Oath of the Horatii.
