A short book of prints of the irregular troops and mercenaries of the Holy Roman Empire and Prussia, the second edition published in 1743, with eleven prints illustrative of uniforms and dress with long anthropological and military texts on the people described, with a small engraved frontispiece with two roundels, one with a profile portrait of Maria Theresa of Austria and the other of her arms, surrounded by a trophy of arms, a captive in chains and two putti. The individual prints as follows:
1. Portrait of Ludwig Andreas von Khevenhuller, half-length, in an architectural oval with oak, laurel and palm leaves, slightly turned to the right, his baton of command in one hand, a cuirass over his frockcoat and an ermine-lined cloak fastened across his chest, an embroidered tricorne on his head, to the foreground a putto holding up a lightening bolt to him, drapery, his arms and his plumed helmet
2. A mounted colonel of a regiment of hussars, Hallas Peter, holding a baton of command in his hand, dressed in an embroidered fur-lined pelisse over his dolman, an extravagantly feathered hat on his head, hessian boots on his feet, his horse with a foreleg raised
3. A mounted hussar, holding the reins of his horse, dressed in a short dolman with a pelisse worn on the left side of his body, a fur-lined busby on his head and hessian boots on his feet, a carbine slung across his chest, a sabre hanging at his side with a pistol and an axe attached to the saddle
4. A mounted hussar officer giving orders to a private, the former with one hand on his hip, dressed in a dolman with cross-belts across his chest, a plumed and fur-lined busby on his head, a leopard-skin cloak slung about his shoulders, hessian boots on his feet and a sabre hanging at his side, the latter with his one hand at his breast, dressed in a dolman with a cloak about his shoulders, a fur-lined busby on his head and hessian boots on his feet, a sash across his chest and another about his waist, a sabre hanging at his side
5. A pandur captain, holding his musket in the crook of his arm and with a stick hanging from his other hand by a strap, dressed in Croatian costume of a long single-breasted robe over his shirt with a busby on his head, a pouch on a strap across his chest, pistols and a long knife tucked into his sash, a sword hanging at his side
6. A pandur, holding his musket by the barrel with his other hand on the hilt of his sword, dressed in a short jacket over his shirt and wide petticoat breeches, a busby with a four-pronged knife as a cockade on his head, a fur-lined cloak about his shoulders, cross-belts across his chest, pistols in a holster at his side and tucked into his sash along with a long knife
7. An irregular Croatian militiaman, with one hand on his hip and the other holding a small mace, smoking a meerschaum pipe, dressed in a short jacket over his shirt and tight trousers, a fur-lined cloak about his shoulders and a high shako on his head, pistols and knives tucked into his belt and his breast, a large sabre at his side with an ornamental hilt and a musket slung about his shoulders
8. A mounted uhlan officer, with his drawn sword in one hand and the reins in the other, dressed in a loose gown-like jacket buttoned at the neck with embroidered edging over his kurta, a low fur-lined cap on his head, hessian boots on his feet, his horse galloping to the right
9. A mounted uhlan, with his lance in one hand and the reins in the other, dressed in a loose gown-like jacket buttoned at the neck over his kurta, a low fur-lined cap on his head, hessian boots on his feet, a hangar at his side and a pistol holster on his saddle, a carbine slung on his back, his horse with a foreleg raised
10. An irregular Moravian militiaman, with a large club in one hand and with the other toying with a pistol, dressed in a short fur-lined jacket with a shapka on his head, cross-belts across his chest and pistols tucked into his belt with a powder-horn, knife and sword hanging down, a musket slung on his back, high boots on his legs with his toes poking through a tear
11. An Scottish highlander, holding his musket by the barrel in one hand, dressed in a short jacket and a kilt, a bonnet on his head and a pistol hanging from a strap across his chest, a belt about his waist from which hang a regulation cartridge box with the royal cipher, a sgian dubh, his sporran, a bayonet in its frog and a basket-hilted sword

- The image of the Highlander and the accompanying text seems to have been a later edition to the book as it comes after the 'Finis' and the text is in Dutch and French
