Description
Title-page to Reverend John Milner's 'The History Civil and Ecclesiastical and Survey of the Antiquities of Winchester' (London: various, 1809), the title in a scroll with a panoramic north view of the city from the Monk's Wall at bottom, the scroll hanging below three vaulted arched niches from the side enclosure of the Cathedral sanctuary with mortuary chests, and part of the Wolveser ruins with some coffin monuments from Hyde Abbey and the druidical altar from near St Peter's church; corrected and enlarged second edition.
