- Set, in book form, of the four educational games designed by Desmarets de Saint-Sorlin for the young Louis XIV, on the orders of Cardinal Mazarin. Each game was published separately and BM has both original sets as well as sets of copies after the original cards. For full details see individual entries for De Vesme/Massar numbers 489-687. This set lacks only the frontispiece to the 'Jeu de la Mythologie' but contains both the original De Vesme/Massar 649 as well as its replacement used in the third state; this restrike is of the last state in all four games. Each card contains, respectively, a depiction of a mythological scene, a personification of a country, a king or a queen, with description in French and indication of suit and number; with twelve pages of preliminary text.
