- The spine of the book is lettered in gold "Giuoco De Tarocchi". The title is "L'Utile col Diletto o sia Geografia intrecciata nel Giuoco de Tarocchi, con le Insegne degl'Illustrissimi ed Ecclelsi Signori Gonfalonieri, ed Anziani di Bologna dal 1670, sino al 1725", with dedication to the Marchese G. P. Pepoli. The atutti are geographical tables and the numerals armorial shields, the former are etchings, the latter woodcuts. Every card has its symbol or suit-mark at the top. A second set of the atutti, with slight variations, is placed at the end. This is a comparatively modern version of the tarocchino of Bologna. Originally the 2, 3, 4 and 5 of the numeral suits were supressed, but in the present sequence they exist, while the 7, 8, 9 and 10 of each suit are absent. This work was suppressed by order of the Pope.
An additional card (1896,0501.137.11) with a table relating to Germany, numbered 10, hand-coloured, and with a back showing "Insigne Nobili" was evidently acquired with the volume. It has been placed with a pack of similar cards 1873,0510.2065 to 2123 (Willshire I.12).
