- This and 1895,0915.954 are studies in reverse for two of the four prints, 'les Amours Pastorales', by Antoine Jean Duclos, see J.-R. Pierrette, 'L'oeuvre gravé de François Boucher dans la Collection Edmond de Rothschild', Paris, 1978, nos. 929-932 (present drawing related to no. 930). A reversed copy of the print by Georg Friedrich Schmidt is illustrated by Ananoff and Wildenstein 1976, I, fig. 783. The subject and composition of the print recall Boucher's painting, 'Sleeping shepherdess', of 1743 in the Louvre (Ananoff and Wildenstein 1976, I, no. 260, fig. 780).
