- Copy after St Peter in the 'Ascension' at Lyons (P. Scarpellini, 'Perugino', Milan, 1984, p. 202, fig.124).

Pouncey, 'Italian drawings in the BM, the fourteenth and fifteenth centuries', London, 1950, I, no. 199 (with previous literature)

The drawing was formerly mounted in an album which also contained a series of apostles of the Paduan School (nos. 312 to 325 below), a series of two prophets and ten sibyls by Girolamo di Benvenuto (nos. 74 to 85 above), and three drawings of apostles after the Master F. V. B. (1895,0915.1402 to 1404).
The figure corresponds with that of S. Peter in the pictures of the 'Ascension' at Lyons (K. der K. 50) and at Sansepolcro (K. der K. 64). As can be deduced from the bit of drapery of a figure to the 1., the sheet is a fragment of a copy of at least a group from the composition. The style of brush-drawing differs from that of Perugino's school and suggests, perhaps, the environment of Gaudenzio Ferrari.
