- Curator's comments
- This is the first plate from a complete copy of the series printed by Hieronymus Höltzel, Nuremberg, 1511. It consists of a title-page and 19 illustrations, all but the last with Latin text in antiqua letterpress on the verso. The text was compiled by Benedictus Chelidonius. This copy is bound together with the 'Large Passion' series (1895-1-22-607 to 618) and the second Latin edition of the 'Apocalypse' series (1895-1-22-580 to 595); each title-page is signed by a very early owner, N Foucquart, and the album has the bookplate of W Mitchell.
