Description
The drunken Silenus, after Rubens; Silenus falling forwards, taking grapes held by a satyr, while a tiger jumps up from left to snatch the end of the vinebranch in its mouth, with a train of satyrs, one to right with his arms around two women, one playing the tambourine, and small children, one pissing to right, three others eating grapes to left, sitting among scattered fruit; etched state. 1789 stipple etching

For a finished state, see 1877,0811.849 The painting is at the Alte Pinakothek, Munich. Only the figures of Bacchus, the satyr holding grapes and the tiger are closely copied from the painting.
