Allegory on the treaty of Tilsit and the subsequent return of Napoléon to France, 1807; with Napoleon as Imperator, on rearing horse facing left, crowned by Minerva, and preceded by Fame blowing a trumpet and carrying a flag,, and by the Sprit of War, a winged putto clutching the thunderbolts; below, left, the personification of France rejoices as her saviour returns; she holds a caduceus and some ears of wheat, symbols of her prosperity; on the right, a group of Spirits representing the arts
