- Noted in ink along lower edge of sheet with names of artist and printmaker, "Exceeding scarce" and with intials: "M.I.M" (a similar inscription appears as MTM on 1892,0714.658) and EP (Engraver's Proof); the accompanying quote in pencil.
Date of publication is given as 1845 in the DNB entry for Maclise.
