Curator's comments
Louis XVI and his family as well as the Princess of Lamballe died duringthe French Revolution; the Duke of Enghien was executed under Napoléon in 1804. This places the print after Napoleon's fall, during the Bourbon Restauration.

1889,0806.8 to 53 were all purchased from William Walker for a total of £49 7s 6d. A few prices have been entered individually. Colvin's report dated 30 July 1889 stated that all of them came from the collection of Lord Ronald Gower.
