- See comment for 1887,1216.34.1. As pointed out by Martin Hopkinson (email 8/10/08) the boat and barge builders' property seen in this etching still survives on Rotherhithe High Street. The rest were demolished c.1964. William Henry Stevens boat builder is recorded in street directories at 40 Rotherhithe Street, sandwiched between Elephant Stairs to the East, and the White Lion pub beyond which was Prince's Stairs to the West. The dome of St Paul's can be seen in the distance
