Two figures in fancy dress costume, to left a man wearing a strange outfit consisting of a hair or feather garment, shirt, short trousers, a head covering with two feathers and a jug with flowers fastened to his waist, lifts up his arms at a young woman to right, dressed as a man or street urchin, seen three-quarters from behind, wearing trousers, a shirt and beret, who thumbs her nose at him; a wall behing them and to right, an opening revealing other figures faintly depicted. 1843

- The Armehault & Bocher entry for the print states that it was published in 'La Caricature' 12 February 1843.
The impression catalogued here corresponds to the second state, apart from not having the reference to the journal lettered above the image, but the print is cropped, so it is likely to have been present.
