- Acquisition notes
- The collection of prints and drawings relating to Mary Queen of Scots formed by Joseph Cecil of Northampton was purchased by the Museum from his widow Maria Cecil in 1885 (1885,0509.52-1382). It was mounted in a single album, which was then broken up and the contents re-arranged into five albums, each of which is given a separate entry.
