Effigy of Edward, the Black Prince, in Canterbury Cathedral, study for part of plate 86 of Stothard's 'The Monumental Effigies of Great Britain', published by Mrs Anna Eliza Bray, 1817-32, one of a large group of studies for this volume; recumbent male figure, seen in profile, head at left, with hands held in attitude of prayer, and feet resting on an animal, wearing armour, and a surcoat decorated with heraldic motifs, also separate studies of details, some not appearing on plate 86. 1811
