Description
Practising for the tournament, study for a satirical print in the series 'Political Sketches', published by Thomas McLean, 1821-1851; Lords and Commons tilting at each other over the question of Ireland; to right Brougham riding at a ring, and Lord Londonderry at the dummy of Lord Durham, other riders present. 1839 Black chalk Verso: An Irish subject; the Queen and her principal Ministers on an Irish car, with Spring Rice as driver, the horse, O'Connell, having just shied at the Bill for Renewal of the Bank of Ireland Charter, alarming the Queen and Russell, in a scene inscribed with speech. 1839 Graphite
