Description
A parliamentary group, study for a satirical print in the series 'Political Sketches', published by Thomas McLean, 1821-1851; part of the ministerial front bench in the Lords, with Grey on the extreme l, resting his head on his hand, the others abandoning themselves to sleep, being Lansdowne, Richmond, Melbourne, Goderich and Holland. 1832 Pen and brown ink and graphite Verso: Important petition, and other sketches including two dancers; Brougham sits at the Table at the House of Lords between the Duke of Sussex and Wellington, while Lord Holland stands by, holding out a print, the scene inscribed with speech. 1832 Pen and brown ink and graphite
