The Affidavit, study for a satirical print in the series 'Political Sketches', published by Thomas McLean, 1821-1851; to left, Lord Tenterden sits in profile at a table, watching Lady Lyndhurst who stands facing him and takes the oath, with Lord Lyndhurst to her right, a clerk behind the table, and another figure. 1829

Verso: A Political Riddle, and a sketch of carriages; Maria da Gloria, the nine-year-old Queen of Portugal, in back view, leans against the knee of George IV, seated and looking at Wellington, impassive, standing to right, the interview being watched by Lord Aberdeen who holds back Lord Beresford, in a reference to the British attitude to the usurpation of the Portuguese throne by Don Miguel. 1829
