Curator's comments
Pennant's London has famously attracted collectors to illustrate the text with views and plans of London. This has led to many editions being printed over the years; for an over view of these see Adams number 67. The first edition of 1790 contained 12 plates and an engraved title page. The plates in the later editions up to Faulder's fifth edition are also recorded by Adams. The third edition published by Faulder in 1793 was extra-illustrated by Crowle, whose 14 volume set is in the BM.
