Henry Monnier, "Scènes populaires, dessinées à la plume" (Paris, E. Dentu) 1879, new edition, first series; containing a wood-engraving by Chevauchet after Monnier at the beginning of each of the 16 stories with the exception of the last one, some of the stories with smaller vignettes of the characters within the text. Facsimile signature 'Prudhomme' as frontispiece, portrait of Monnier in the title-page, and table of contents at the end. Bound in green leather with gold tooling and embossed lettering on the spine, raised bands, marbled endpapers and edges.
