- Curator's comments
- From a series of twelve representing the wives of the twelve Caesars. The set is a companion piece to a series of twelve engravings executed by Sadeler after Titian's paintings for the Ducal Palace in Mantua. The empresses were not designed by Titian but are kept with the Caesar set in the Masters series, under Titian.
