Street-scene; a cheerful, stout old woman with her foot on the step of a substantial residence, holding up a large basket from which a woman standing in the doorway at right is choosing buns to put on a plate, a child holding a doll, and a dog, at her feet, looking up at the basket eagerly; three children crowding round the old woman at left, one holding a baby, another reaching up; in the distance at left, a castellated building and gate. 1823
