- From an album of two hundred and thirty-two drawings made by George Keate on a tour of France, Italy and Switzerland from 1754-56. For a full description and comment, see 1878,0209.106 (which is the title page, drawn by Robert Adam).
Gaston de Foix was a French military commander during the War of the League of Cambrai (which earn him the nickane 'le foudre d'Italie', or the thunderbolt of Italy) and nephew of Louis XII of France (q.v.), he died during the battle of Ravenna.
