A caricature of the French admiral in profile to the right, tall and thin, with an enormous nose, drawn much as in BMSat 5991. He holds a telescope to his left eye, while his drawn sword is held vertically, point upwards, the blade resting on his shoulder. The deck of his ship is indicated in the background, a smoking cannon shows that the ship is in action. The cannon is inscribed "Lewis", beside it is a pile of cannon-balls. c. May 1782
