- Curator's comments
- Metz has left out the interceding figure of St Peter and three heads to his left so as to represent the scene as a uniform whole. For an impression made from a different plate in which the contours are more emphatically described, see 1999,0131.2.16. In the latter Metz also adds two cloud outlines, one below Christ, the other below Saints Lawrence and Bartholomew. The grey ink over Christ's body and to the left and top right derives from a dirty plate.
