- Plate 3 from a series of six published by Carington Bowles and reproducing Le Brun's Battles of Alexander. According to Thieme Becker (see: Robert Sheppard), the set is a copy of the plates engraved by G. Audran c.1675/78 (see 1842,0806.172.a-b); however the French series only includes four plates, not six; moreover, the British plates are in the same direction as their French counterparts.
After a painting by Le Brun, 1661, now in the Musée du Château, Versailles (MV 6165).
