- Curator's comments
- 'Village at Newnham' according to an annotation to an impression in the album compiled and bequeathed by William Sandby.
Previously sewn into a binding: holes in the left margin.
Sandby produced numerous etchings from the late 1740s onwards, some isolated plates, some possibly intended for sets. An impression of this is included in the departmental copy of Ryland and Bryer's 1765 collection of Sandby's etchings: see 1850,1014.538.
