'L'entrée de Henri II roi de France à Rouen au mois d'octobre 1550. Imprimé pour la première fois d'après un manuscrit de la Bibliothèque de Rouen, orné de dix planches gravées à l'eau forte par Louis de Merval, accompagné de notes bibliographiques et historiques par S. de Merval' (Rouen, Henry Boissel) 1868, no 47 of 100 copies; containing 10 plates etched on steel by Louis de Merval between 1865 and 1868 showing the progress of Henry II, King of France, during his entrance in the city of Rouen, each image with Latin caption below, text 'L'entree du tres magnanime tres puissant et victorieux Roy de France Henry Deuxiesme de ce nom en sa noble cité de Rouen ville métropolitaine de Normandié qui fut au jour de mercredy premier d'octobre mil cinq cens cinquante en rithme francoyse' in verse by an unidentified contemporary author ornamented with images and initial letters also by Merval, most of the pages with a large triple crescent moon to the right of the text, or arrows and bows imitating the original manuscript. Bound with author's note at the beginning and notes at the end, in green leather with embossed gold lettering on spine, marbled endpapers.
